Deleting your data
NewsletterScriv is operated by GlyphStack LLC (P.O. Box 494, Benton, PA 17814). This page explains how to delete data, what deletion actually removes, and what survives it and why. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
First: cancelling is not deleting
These get mixed up constantly, and the difference is the whole ballgame.
- Cancelling a paid plan drops you to the free plan. Nothing is deleted. Your list, your emails, and your history stay put, exportable, for five yearsfrom your last activity — and we’ll email you three warnings long before anything would ever be removed. You can come back and pick up where you left off.
- Deleting your data is a separate, deliberate request. It is permanent, it is not reversible, and we cannot restore an account afterward.
If what you want is “stop charging me,” cancel — don’t delete. If what you want is “erase me,” read on.
Export first — it takes one click
Before you delete anything, take your data with you. From Account settings → Your datayou can download every contact across every audience with their consent evidence attached, plus your suppression list. Both are plain CSV files that work anywhere. We’d rather you leave with everything than discover a gap later.
How to request deletion
Email legal@glyphstack.com from the address you sign in with, using the subject line “Delete my data.” Signing from the registered address is how we know the request is really yours. (support@glyphstack.comreaches the same people if that’s the address you already have.)
We’ll confirm receipt, and complete the deletion within 30 days. If a request would remove something you may not have meant to lose, we’ll say so once and wait for you to confirm — we won’t use that as a stalling tactic.
What deletion removes
- Your account, your login, and any team members’ access to it.
- Every audience and the subscribers in it, with their tags, groups, segments, and custom fields.
- Campaigns, automations, journeys, and their drafts and send history.
- Forms, landing pages, and public archive pages (their links stop working).
- Books, reader magnets, and the files you uploaded for them.
- Swap slots and bookings, and ARC team campaigns and recipient records.
- API keys, webhook endpoints, sending-domain records, and any AI provider key you stored.
- Engagement events — opens, clicks, deliveries — tied to your account.
What we keep, and why
- Suppression records — kept permanently, by design. If someone unsubscribed, bounced, or filed a complaint, we retain the minimum needed to remember that: the email address and the fact they must not be mailed. Forgetting is how a person gets emailed again after saying no, and an opt-out is a promise with no expiry date. This is the one carve-out we will not make an exception to, for anyone.
- Billing and tax records. Invoices and payment records are held by Stripe and by us for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Records needed to resolve a dispute or enforce our agreements, where we have a live legal reason to hold them.
- Backups, briefly. Routine backups may still contain your data until they age out on their normal rotation. They are not used to provide the service and are not restored to bring an account back.
Anything we keep is kept only as long as the obligation lasts, and is never used for marketing, model training, or to provide the service to anyone else.
If you’re a reader, not an author
If you subscribed to an author’s newsletter and want off it or want your data removed:
- To stop the emails right now:the unsubscribe link in any email from that author works instantly. No login, no login wall, no questions, no “are you sure.”
- To have your data deleted:your details belong to the author whose list you joined — they decide, and we act on their instruction. Ask them first. If you can’t reach them or they don’t respond, email legal@glyphstack.comand we’ll route it and help see it through.
One thing worth knowing: if you unsubscribe, we keep your address on the suppression list precisely so you are not contacted again. That record existing is the mechanism protecting you, not a loophole around your request.
Deleting individual contacts, as an author
You don’t need us for this. You can delete any subscriber from your audience in the dashboard at any time, and it takes effect immediately. Their suppression record, if they have one, stays — see above.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws like the GDPR or state privacy acts give you specific rights over your data, including access, correction, and erasure. We honor them, and we don’t require you to invoke a statute by name to be taken seriously. Ask plainly and we’ll act.
